Cambridge, UK, June 2006 - Dr Adrian Travis, CamFPD CTO, talked about novel uses for Wedge® panels at the annual conference of the Society for Information Display in San Francisco. His paper, "Wedge® displays as cameras" described how Wedge® panels work in reverse as cameras and he cited how combinations of Wedge® panels and phosphor screens are being used in slim X-ray detectors for portable baggage scanners. Production of Wedge® panels is gradually increasing as CamFPD supports their use in this and other applications. Dr Travis commented "We are excited by the range of applications our partners are finding for Wedge® optics."
